✒️Script Name Guest Book FAQ
"the cody's" or "The Codys" — which is correct for the cover?
Whichever feels like you — we engrave your name letter-for-letter as you type it, apostrophe or not, lowercase or capitalized. The relaxed all-lowercase look (like the photos) is this design's signature, but "The Codys", "The Cody Family", or classic capitals all work. If you're torn, mention it with your order — the free preview is the place to compare before anything is engraved.
Does the flowing line work with every font?
The unbroken line that runs into the first letter and trails out of the last is a feature of the connected script styles — several of our 20 fonts carry it naturally. Choose a non-script font and we'll adapt the composition so the cover keeps its clean, modern balance. Your 12–24 hour preview shows the exact result.
Our last name is long — will the script still fit across the cover?
Yes. The lettering is scaled to your exact name: a long name flows in a slightly finer line, a short one sits larger and bolder — the layout is redrawn either way, never squeezed. Hyphenated and two-word names work too; you'll see the true proportions in the preview.
Is the Oak color the actual wood?
Oak here is the finish color — a warm honey tone applied to our 3-layer Baltic birch cover (see the Materials tab for the full build). The script is laser-engraved through that finish, cutting deeper and darker than the surface, which is why the name reads so clearly across a room. The same design is available in all 7 cover colors.
What page count should we pick?
Sheets are used on both sides: photo layouts take 1-2 guest entries per side, lined and blank pages 2-3. 30 sheets fit a small celebration, 45 an average guest list, 60 a big reception — and blank leftovers quietly become the family album this cover was made to be.
Can we see the script before it's cut?
Always: a digital preview within 12–24 hours shows your name in the flowing script, with the date beneath, exactly as it will be engraved. We only start cutting after you approve — and tweaks at the preview stage (a longer tail, different capitalization) are free.

This wedding guest book is something that will last forever it is beautifully made with highly quality wood. This is 6 x 8.5 with 20 blank sheets natural wood cover and font #19. The wedding guest book included 2 personalized pens and 2 sheets that say “sign our guest book” we had no clue this came with the book and was a pleasant surprise we are beyond happy with the outcome of this product.
