Personalized Wooden Guest Books | Custom Engraved Keepsake Books
A guest book should preserve more than signatures — it should preserve one of life's most meaningful days. Paper books yellow, tear, and end up in storage. Ours are built to last: a real three-layer birch wood cover, thick 230 g/m² paper, and deep laser engraving that's burned into the wood rather than printed on — made to sit on a shelf in twenty years, still looking like the day your guests signed it.
Guest Book Types in Our Collection
Every occasion is different, so we make guest books for far more than weddings. These are the styles our customers choose most.
- Wedding guest books — our most popular category, with rustic, boho, modern, mountain, floral, and monogram designs
- Polaroid & Instax photo guest books — for events where guests stick a photo next to their note
- Vow books — a smaller, personalized book for writing your vows before the ceremony
- Baby shower guest books — for advice, wishes, and predictions from family and friends
- Memorial & retirement guest books — for any meaningful gathering where you want to keep what people say
- Recipe & family heirloom books — for collecting recipes and notes from multiple generations
Not Sure Which Guest Book to Choose?
The type follows the occasion — here's the simplest way to match it:
| If it's for... | Choose... | Why |

| Writing your vows | Vow books | A small, personal book for each partner's vows |
| A baby shower | Baby shower guest books | Keeps wishes, advice, and predictions together |
| A memorial or retirement | Memorial & retirement books | Gathers what people say at a meaningful goodbye |
| Family recipes | Recipe & heirloom books | Collects recipes and notes across generations |
Why Wood Matters for a Guest Book
Most guest books are made to look nice at the event and then disappear into a drawer. Ours are made to be displayed — on a coffee table, a bookshelf, or a console. The cover is three-layer birch plywood finished with protective Italian lacquer, engraved rather than printed, so the design won't fade or rub off. Twenty years from now, when you pull it down to show someone, it will still look like a piece worth showing.
Unlike printed or MDF covers, birch plywood has a natural grain that makes every cover unique. Laser engraving burns into the wood fibers rather than sitting on the surface, so the design becomes part of the wood — it won't peel or fade. After more than a decade and 32,000+ orders, it's the difference our customers notice first.
| Wooden guest book | Paper guest book |
|---|---|
| Lasts for decades | Yellows and tears over time |
| Engraved into the wood | Printed on the surface |
| Made to be displayed | Ends up in storage |
| Pages can be removed and re-bound | Fixed binding |
| Holds photos, ink, and keepsakes | Thin pages, writing only |
How We Make Every Guest Book
One thing we've learned after 32,000+ orders: the quality is in the steps you don't see. Every book goes through the same process:
- We select and cut three-layer Baltic birch plywood.
- Your design is prepared individually and sent to you as a proof.
- The cover is laser engraved once you approve it.
- Each piece is hand-sanded smooth.
- A protective Italian lacquer seals and finishes the wood.
- The pages are assembled and bound by hand.
- Every order is inspected before it ships.
- Only after that is it carefully packed and sent to its new home.
Sizes, Paper & Cover Colors
Every book is made to order, so you choose how it looks and how much it holds:
- Two sizes — Small (8.5" × 6" / 21 × 15 cm) and Medium (12" × 8.5" / 30 × 21 cm)
- 30 to 80 sheets of thick 230 g/m² paper — choose the page count to fit your guest list
- Paper options — ivory, white, or black; blank sheets or personalized layouts (12 layouts to choose from)
- 7 cover colors — Natural Wood, Oak, Walnut, Dark Walnut, Mahogany, Palisander, or Black wood with light lettering
- 24 cover designs to choose from, or send us your own for a custom layout
A rough guide to size and sheet count by guest list — the paper layout you choose also affects capacity, since one sheet holds about 1-4 entries:
| Guest count | Recommended size |
|---|---|
| Up to ~30 | Small, 30 sheets |
| ~30-50 | Small, 50 sheets |
| ~50-100 | Medium, 50 sheets |
| 100+ | Medium, 60-80 sheets |

Built for Both Signatures and Photos
The pages are thick enough to handle anything your guests want to do — write a long message, stick a Polaroid next to their signature with photo corners, attach an Instax shot, or paste in a printed picture. Depending on the size and layout you choose, a single sheet holds roughly one to four guest entries. Many of our books work as both a traditional sign-in book and a photo guest book in the same piece, and the pages fully detach so guests can write on loose sheets at the reception, then re-bind into the book afterward. Long after the wedding, many couples continue adding dried flowers, invitations, seating cards, and other keepsakes, turning the guest book into a complete wedding memory book.

Handcrafted in Our Family Workshop
Every guest book is handcrafted in our family workshop by our small team, led by Vlad and Natalie. What began as a two-person workshop has grown over the years, but every design is still created with the same attention to detail and care that has guided our work from the very beginning. After more than a decade and 32,000+ orders, we've learned how a guest book actually gets used: passed around at a reception, written in quickly, sometimes stuck with photos in awkward places. Every detail of how we make them is designed for that reality. For US orders, your book ships free from our warehouse in Minnesota — quickly, with no customs delays or surprise import fees. Each one is handmade to order, never a mass-produced import, and packed to arrive ready to gift.
📖Guest Book FAQ
How many pages should I choose? +
Our books come with 30 to 80 sheets. Choose based on your guest list and how many entries you want per page — with most layouts a single sheet holds about one to four guest messages, so 30 sheets suits an intimate event and 80 works for a large wedding.
What size guest book do I need for my guest count? +
We offer two sizes — Small (8.5" × 6") and Medium (12" × 8.5"). As a rough guide: up to ~30 guests, Small with 30 sheets; ~30-50, Small with 50; ~50-100, Medium with 50; 100+, Medium with 60-80. The paper layout also affects capacity, since one sheet holds about one to four entries.
What kind of wood are the covers made from? +
Every cover is three-layer birch plywood, sealed with a protective Italian lacquer. It's available in 7 finishes — Natural Wood, Oak, Walnut, Dark Walnut, Mahogany, Palisander, and Black wood with light lettering.
How long does the engraving last? Can the wood crack? +
The design is engraved into the wood, not printed, so it won't fade, peel, or rub off. The three-layer birch plywood and Italian lacquer finish keep the cover stable for decades of indoor display — it wipes clean like fine furniture and is built to be handed down.
What paper do the books use? +
Thick 230 g/m² paper, in ivory, white, or black. You can choose blank sheets or one of 12 personalized layouts — including lined, photo-slot, and best-wishes designs — or send us your own layout.
What pens come with the book? +
Every guest book includes 2 wooden pens, engraved free with your names and date. You also receive an A5 wedding sign (2 design options to choose from).
Can guests attach Polaroids or Instax photos? +
Yes. The pages are thick enough to hold Polaroids, Instax shots, or regular prints without warping — guests attach them with photo corners, so no glue is needed. Many customers use their book as both a sign-in book and a photo guest book.
Can I add or replace pages? +
Yes. The book opens fully and every sheet can be detached individually — handy for letting guests write on loose pages at the reception, or for adding and swapping pages later. Everything re-binds back into the book afterward.
How long does it take to make and ship? +
We send a digital proof for your approval first (about 1-2 days), then craft your book to order. US shipping is free and ships from our Minnesota warehouse, so most orders arrive quickly with no customs delays.
Can I request a custom cover design? +
Yes. Choose from 24 ready cover designs, or send us your own idea and we'll create a custom layout. You approve a free digital proof before we engrave anything.
