Why Wood Matters for a Guest Book

Most guest books are made to look nice at the event and then disappear into a drawer. Ours are made to be displayed — on a coffee table, a bookshelf, or a console. The cover is three-layer birch plywood finished with protective Italian lacquer, engraved rather than printed, so the design won't fade or rub off. Twenty years from now, when you pull it down to show someone, it will still look like a piece worth showing.

Unlike printed or MDF covers, birch plywood has a natural grain that makes every cover unique. Laser engraving burns into the wood fibers rather than sitting on the surface, so the design becomes part of the wood — it won't peel or fade. How We Make Every Guest Book

One thing we've learned after 32,000+ orders: the quality is in the steps you don't see. Every book goes through the same process:

1. We select and cut three-layer Baltic birch plywood.
2. Your design is prepared individually and sent to you as a proof.
3. The cover is laser engraved once you approve it.
4. Each piece is hand-sanded smooth.
5. A protective Italian lacquer seals and finishes the wood.
6. The pages are assembled and bound by hand.
7. Every order is inspected before it ships.
8. Only after that is it carefully packed and sent to its new home.

• Two sizes — Small (8.5" × 6" / 21 × 15 cm) and Medium (12" × 8.5" / 30 × 21 cm)
• 30 to 80 sheets of thick 230 g/m² paper — choose the page count to fit your guest list
• Paper options — ivory, white, or black; blank sheets or personalized layouts (12 layouts to choose from)
• 7 cover colors — Natural Wood, Oak, Walnut, Dark Walnut, Mahogany, Palisander, or Black wood with light lettering
• 24 cover designs to choose from, or send us your own for a custom layout

Built for Both Signatures and Photos

The pages are thick enough to handle anything your guests want to do — write a long message, stick a Polaroid next to their signature with photo corners, attach an Instax shot, or paste in a printed picture. Depending on the size and layout you choose, a single sheet holds roughly one to four guest entries. Many of our books work as both a traditional sign-in book and a photo guest book in the same piece, and the pages fully detach so guests can write on loose sheets at the reception, then re-bind into the book afterward. Long after the wedding, many couples continue adding dried flowers, invitations, seating cards, and other keepsakes, turning the guest book into a complete wedding memory book.
