Is the heart engraved or actually cut out?
When you include it, the heart is cut fully through the wooden cover — a real opening. A fixed red first page sits beneath the cover, so the red layer shows through the heart against the map. The world map itself is laser-engraved into the wood.
Do we have to include the heart? Where can it go?
The heart is optional. If you'd like it, tell us the location in your order notes — couples mark where they met, where they married, a favorite trip, or where they live now — and we cut it through at that spot so the red layer shows through. Prefer just the map with no heart? Simply leave the location out. You'll see your choice in the free digital proof either way.
Does the red heart work with white or black pages?
Yes. The red behind the heart comes from a dedicated red first page built into this design — it's fixed, so the heart always shows red no matter whether you choose White or Black for the rest of your album pages.
How does the map look on different wood colors?
The map is engraved into any of the 7 cover finishes. On Dark Walnut (shown) the map reads in warm light tones against the deep wood; on lighter finishes like Oak or Natural Wood the contrast is softer. When included, the cut-through heart shows red on every finish.
How many photos fit per page?
Depending on orientation, Small accommodates one standard 4 × 6 in photo per page, Medium up to two, and Large up to three. You can also mix photos with captions, tickets, maps, and other flat travel keepsakes.
Can we engrave names in another language?
Yes — we engrave names, dates, and wording in most languages and alphabets. Type your text exactly as it should appear in the personalization notes, and you'll see it in your digital proof before anything is engraved.
Is this a good 5th anniversary gift?
Yes — wood is the traditional 5th anniversary material, which makes a wooden travel album a fitting gift for couples who explore together. It also works beautifully for weddings, honeymoons, and engagements.
How many pages can I choose?
You choose your page count at checkout, from 30 sheets (60 pages) up to 80 sheets (160 pages) — each size is built with binder rings and a leather spine matched to that page count. The 4-ring binder opens, so pages can be removed or rearranged as your travels grow.
Will we see the design before it's made?
Always. Within 12–24 hours of ordering you'll receive a free digital proof with your names, date, and heart placement exactly as they'll be made. Production starts only after your approval — and small adjustments at this stage are free.
